Introducing the Former Wisley Airfield
Taylor Wimpey has submitted a planning application to Guildford Borough Council for up to 1,730 homes and a wide range of community facilities on the former Wisley Airfield site, as part of proposals to meet the need for new homes and infrastructure locally. Of these homes, 40% (692) will be for affordable rent of purchase, delivered by award-winning provider VIVID Homes.
Designed as three distinct neighbourhoods around a community heart, Taylor Wimpey is proposing all the facilities needed for daily life, including shops, cafes, healthcare and education facilities.
With a vast Country Park and sports facilities available to all, our aim is to create a vibrant community where people can live, relax, work, learn and get close to nature.

History of the site
The site is allocated for large-scale residential-led development and has been removed from the Green Belt in the Guildford Borough Council Local Plan in April 2019. It currently includes c. 70 acres of concrete runway and hardstanding (roughly equivalent to a four-mile stretch of the M25) which will be repurposed and reused.
